  • Four Թϲ Students Named to the All-Ohio Academic TeamFour Թϲ Students Named to the All-Ohio Academic Team
  • Թϲ is pleased to announce that four current Թϲ students have been named to the All-Ohio Academic Team. The students, joining other honorees from Ohio's community college system, will be honored with scholarships for their academic excellence, leadership, and community service. A ceremony to recognize this year's award winners will be held virtually on April 26 as part of Community College Month in Ohio.
  • Southern State student travels to Arizona to tour Intel FacilitySouthern State student travels to Arizona to tour Intel Facility
  • Southern State student Kayla Bradshaw, of Clinton County, is one of 25 women in Ohio to recently be awarded an Intel Semiconductor Scholarship; a scholarship established by Intel Corporation. Of these 25 scholarship recipients, only 8 were selected to visit the Intel Semiconductor Facility in Phoenix, Arizona for a hands-on experience. Bradshaw was one of the 8 students selected to attend.

  • Southern State's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter attends Ohio Region Awards ConferenceSouthern State's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter attends Ohio Region Awards Conference
  • The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Ohio Region Awards Conference was held on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th. The event was hosted by Cuyahoga Community College. Southern State's chapter had four officers and one advisor in attendance. In total, 14 chapters were in attendance/represented. This was a time of fellowship, celebration, and business proceedings.
  • Թϲ Board of Trustees to meet March 21Թϲ Board of Trustees to meet March 21
  • The Թϲ Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21 on Թϲ's Hillsboro Campus, Room 346, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro for their regular Board meeting. The board will enter into executive session to discuss employment and compensation of personnel and the purchase or sale of property.
  • Southern State to offer Court Officer Basic TrainingSouthern State to offer Court Officer Basic Training
  • Թϲ will be offering a new training opportunity beginning in April. The Court Officer Basic Training Program, to be held at the Greenfield Workforce Development Center, 1300 Jefferson Street in Greenfield, kicks off on April 23, 2024.
  • Թϲ Theatre presents FirebringerԹϲ Theatre presents 'Firebringer'
  • The Theatre Department at Թϲ presents "Firebringer," with music and lyrics by Meredith Stepien and Mark Swiderski, book by Matt Lang, Nick Lang, and Brian Holden, and arranged by Clark Baxtresser and Pierce Siebers, playing April 12-14 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday matinee begins at 3:30 p.m.

  • Թϲ is pleased to announce the employment of Elizabeth Crabtree, an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, who will serve the student population beginning January 8. This position is funded through a mental health support grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
  • Թϲ Board of Trustees to meet January 18Թϲ Board of Trustees to meet January 18
  • The Թϲ Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18 on Թϲ's Hillsboro Campus, Room 346, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro for their regular Board meeting. The board will enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing the purchase or sale of property.
  • Թϲ announces honors lists for fall semesterԹϲ announces honors lists for fall semester
  • Թϲ has released its President's List and Dean's List for academic excellence for Fall Semester 2023. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a specific number of academic credit hours. Those who achieve the Dean's List are full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
