Work Ready Grant

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) has launched the Ohio Work, Ready Grant Program. This program provides grant funding to students enrolled in eligible credit and noncredit programs that lead to an industry-recognized credential, certificate, or degree and prepares the student for an in-demand job.

Ohio Work Ready Grant award amounts are as follows:
  • Up to $3,000 per academic year for full-time degree seeking students. Full-time means a student enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester OR a continuously enrolled student who enrolls in at least thirty credit hours in an academic year regardless of the amount per term.
  • Up to $2,000 per academic year for part-time degree seeking students. Part-time means a degree seeking student enrolled in 11 or fewer credit hours per semester.
  • Up to $2,000 for students enrolled in a short-term certificate or industry-recognized credential program
To be eligible for this grant, a student must meet the following criteria:
  • You are a current resident of the state of Ohio.
  • The student has registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • The student has completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ("FAFSA") and the student's Expected Family Contribution ("EFC") or Student Aid Index ("SAI") is 3750 or less.
  • The student is enrolled in a qualified program determined by CIP code. The CIP codes that are eligible for Ohio Work Ready Grants can be found at . These CIP codes are subject to change. If a student is awarded an Ohio Work Ready grant, and the CIP code of his or her program is removed from the list, the student may continue to receive the grant for the duration of eligibility.
  • The student has not exhausted his or her eligibility to receive a grant for more than six semesters or the equivalent of three academic years.
  • You were in good academic standing with no disciplinary issues when you stopped out.
  • You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and accept any need-based state or federal grants to which you are entitled.
  • You are not a recipient of any of the following Ohio scholarships: Choose Ohio First, Ohio Safety Officers College Memorial Fund, War Orphans and Severely Disabled Veteran's Scholarship Program, Ohio National Guard Scholarship
  • MUST declare a major at 吃瓜不打烊.
  • Student must order official transcripts from former institution/institutions to be sent directly to 吃瓜不打烊.
  • This grant will only pay toward courses that are required for your academic program.
  • The awarding of this grant is conditional upon the continuance of state funding.
